Six 90 minute sessions
The emphasis of the training program is on learning by doing. As well as using the 55 emotions from the Reading Emotions app, the participants record themselves watching TV ads, looking at static marketing material, playing video games and navigating a web site. We also look at footage of respondents talking about brands or service experiences to see the emotions behind the verbal accounts. In this training program we aim to provide a good deal of practice in spotting the signs of emotion and the confidence to identify and label them. In reality there is a great deal of intersubjective agreement about emotions, although sometimes there will be differing views on how to label a particular emotion, but this is more a question of semantics.
